I received my PhD in Biological Anthropology from the University of Kansas, and was a tenured Associate Professor at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio until 1995, when I made a huge career change. In the course of explorations into my own health issues, I left academics to become a certified Hellerwork Structural Integration Practitioner, and began to study CranioSacral Therapy with the Upledger Institute. I took that first class in CranioSacral therapy as a prerequisite to another modality, and to this day, almost 20 years later, I am still studying the CST curriculum. In addition to teaching Introduction to CranioSacral Therapy in Northern Arizona and assisting at Upledger classes around the country, I am a Licensed Massage Therapist (LMT) certified by the National Certification Board for Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork (NCBTMB) and the Arizona State Massage Board.
In 1998, I also became a certified Yoga Therapist. Since that time, I have combined bodywork and yoga to create customized therapeutic programs for individuals and groups dealing with a wide range of health and healing issues. I now live and work in Sedona, Arizona, where I balance my passion for bodywork and yoga with a very active meditation practice and time spent hiking the trails of Sedona and beyond.
